Fall Bulb Planting

Writer's picture: gardeningat10200ftgardeningat10200ft

BULBS, BULBS, BULBS.

I had ordered a good number of flower bulbs middish summer. Little did I know that I would be waiting nearly 2 extra months before they would arrive. I was able to get 70+ bulbs planted on November 7th, with just an hour or two before a huge storm rolled in.

I purchased the following bulbs from Fedco Seeds;

Red Emperor Tulips, Angelique Tulips, Parrot Tulips, Sun Lover Tulips, Apricot Tulips, Cherry Blossom Bearded Iris, Flower Record Crocus, Pickwick Crocus, Ruby Giant Crocus, Cream Beauty Crocus, and I feel like I'm missing something else haha! I ordered some daffodils but they were out of stock.

I purchased Parrot Magic Tulips and Angelique Tulips from Home Depot because they were just too pretty to pass up.

I try to keep track of everything I plant regardless of if it is planted inside or outside. This will give you a general idea of what I do. Please disregard the chicken scratch, it was the best I could do in the time crunch that I had.

Fingers crossed that they all pop up this spring! Only 5-6ish more months until we know.

Blog posts may be a little sparse regarding gardening updates due to living at 10,200 and it's winter. Follow my IG for more regular updates this winter.
